Group:
Oral Interpretation is a FUN, dramatic presentation of a poem or short story. Everyone interested in joining is welcome! There are no tryouts. All students will develop an appreciation of literature interpretation and oral language, as well as the skills needed to work together as a group. Plus, students will earn Block H points and have a lot of fun along the way!
We would like our group to have a top notch look at our performance that matches the talent and time we will put in this year. We are asking for a donation of $8.00 to help offset the cost of our team t-shirt. Please indicate the size t-shirt for your child below. At the first practice, cash or check (made payable to “Maple Creek Parent Club”) may be brought for the t-shirt donation. These donations are not mandatory, and your daughter/son will not be adversely affected in terms of her/his participation in the program if she/he cannot make the voluntary contribution for the t-shirt. Following the performance, the t-shirt is yours to keep!

Sincerely,
Your O.I. Coaches

Individual:
Only one child per grade level may be chosen to represent Maple Creek at the Annual Peach Blossom Festival. The Festival is held at Fresno State.
Students who participate are required to memorize a poem, and recite it to a panel of judges. They are encouraged to use gestures, but may not use props. Students are judged on eye contact, voice quality, body movement, and overall performance. The Maple Creek Team members choose a poem with the guidance of their coach, and then practice twice a week with the coach until their performance/competition which is held at Clovis North PAC.
